# Measured receipt

Sentinely's record of a fix: what was freed and what changed for you, measured after the fix rather than promised before it.

Every fix in [Sentinely](https://macmelon.com/apps/sentinely) produces a receipt with two parts. Freed is the memory footprint of the processes that are now gone, measured at least ten seconds after the fix from a fresh reading and confirmed at one minute. Felt is what changed for you: memory pressure and how often the Mac reads memory back from swap, before versus after.

A receipt can say nothing improved, and then it does. It never converts results into time saved or a percentage faster, because those cannot be measured honestly. Lifetime totals add up only measured bytes. The full method is on [How Sentinely measures](https://macmelon.com/how-sentinely-measures).
